About the Newsletter
Research depends on much more than ideas, data, and writing. It also depends on the systems we use to keep projects moving: plans, files, deadlines, collaborations, revisions, decisions, and all the small forms of organization that rarely show up in finished publications.
Most weeks of the year, I’ll send a short note on making research, writing, academic work, and sometimes life more manageable. Some issues will offer a concrete tool or strategy. Others will unpack common questions, like how to deal with overgrown to-do lists, scope creep, messy project folders, or projects that have gone cold.
The goal is not to optimize every minute or pretend research can be made frictionless. It is to make the work behind the work more visible, less mysterious, and a little easier to manage.
